Some things in life are a real ball ache, aren’t they? However, there will normally be precious little we can do about it. And (if that were not enough) we also have a fair few irritating people to deal with too! I know that we all have our little idiosyncrasies, but some individuals seem to have far more annoying habits than others…

Here are a few things about human beings and life in general that really get me down -

Queues

Having to wait in a queue totally does my head in! And (just to rub salt into the wound) the majority of queues are completely unnecessary as well. For example, if my local bank and Post Office were to have a sufficient amount of staff behind the counter then a queue would only ever come about every once in a blue moon. And wouldn’t that be a real blessing?

Cold callers

Not only are cold callers a total pain in the ass, but they always ring me at the most inconvenient junctures of the day. I sometimes wonder if they are hiding somewhere nearby outside and monitoring my movements with high tech spy equipment. You think that sounds silly? Well, how else could they possibly know when I have just got into the shower or if I am right in the middle of watching a super tense thriller???

Besides, they never have anything of interest to say. I mean, why in God’s name would I want to listen to someone droning on about pest control Rotherham or a mobile fish delivery service?

Indecisiveness

We will all find that we have choices in life, but some people seem to take an eternity to make even the smallest decisions. And one of my biggest pet hates is the ‘Which Beverage Should I Choose’dilemma…

When you ask someone; ‘Would you like a cup of tea or coffee?’, then you will normally expect an answer after a couple of seconds…. Yet a question like this appears to send some people into a state of total confusion! And then (after ten minutes or so of them arriving at a life changing decision) you have another major hurdle to negotiate – Would they like milk and sugar in their drink?

AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

There you go; it may make depressing reading but you also know it’s true. And if you don’t, then the chances are that you fit into one of the annoying categories above…

Recently I caught my wife having an affair with the local milkman, she claimed she was taking part in an inschool training course, but her change in attitude and demeanor made me suspect otherwise.

When you live with your wife day in day out, if you pay attention, and always have, to the way she acts, talks and generally comes across, then it should not be too difficult to detect when something is awry. Knowing how to catch a cheating wife is really a lot about paying attention to the small details of your relationship. If you begin to suspect that your wife may be cheating on you, there must be some sort of reason. This might just be a feeling you have inside, that you cannot fully explain, but that feeling is there for a reason, so don’t ignore it.

She may be very good at deflecting the questions or lying, and if so then you need to try a different tact. Thanks to modern technology, almost all cheaters leave a trace somewhere or another and a little detective work can prove very successful. The most important thing to remember her though is not to get caught. If you have got it all wrong, then you do not want to get caught snooping through her phone or hacking into her emails. This will cause all sorts of trust issues in the future.

This is a very difficult decision to make, as either way, if you have got it all wrong, you will not come out looking very good. I would probably suggest the option of confrontation. Tracking her movements or bugging her phone is all a little far in my opinion, and if this is necessary then things have probably gone a little far. The trust has well and truly gone. If you confront her and ask for a straight answer, you are more than likely going to find out the truth.

Do you know why it is advisable to rant once in a while? Many persons presume that getting the rant out of the system will be good for the body. Well, it is important to understand that ranting, by itself, will not provide any benefit. It is only when you focus on ranting once in a while will you understand it is real benefits. If you develop the habit of complaining at every single problem, then chances are high that your life will be one long list of complaints. From the fact that there are bugs in the HR management software to the fact that your child does not listen to you-there will be unlimited problems in your life.

Try to understand that a life without problems is just not going to work. In fact, take problems out of your life and chances are high that there would be nothing left in it. The basic idea behind ranting is to get it all out of your system until you realize that you are being too negative. There should be a voice inside you that should tell you that it is high time you stop complaining and did something productive.

This voice invariably gets activated only when you have a long list of complaints that simply keep on coming. Sooner or later, the voice will step up and will help you restore the balance. You will understand that getting frustrated is not going to help. You will start focusing on the positive aspects of your life.

If you focus on simply complaining about stuff and do not move on to the next level, chances are high that you will not enjoy any stress release benefits. The trick is to get that voice to speak inside you that will soothe you and console you that life does grow strange every once in a while but that does not mean you should take things so seriously all the time.

How can the internet help you get rid of stress? Well, you can find the most fantastic jokes on the most ridiculous topics on the internet. From toilet humor to very classical and stylish humor involving a lot of intelligence – there is unlimited choice available online. Just make sure you don’t do this on the move because you will end up laughing like a maniac and scare everybody around you.

It does not matter whether you are upset because you have lost your pharmacy job or due to some other problem. You can, for short time, get rid of all your problems and enjoy a good time. Many persons to feel that such an approach will make them casual and not motivate them to get rid of their problems. Well, thinking about the problem all the time is never going to work. The best option is to give yourself a break every once in awhile to help you recharge your batteries.

The benefits and options provided by the internet do not end here. You can always get in touch with other individuals who are facing the same problem as you are and talk to them. It does not matter whether you choose a dating website or chat with an old friend on the social networking web site. You can have a third party to whom you can explain all your problems. It does not matter whether you get sympathy or not. You can let it out of the system without feeling ashamed of guilty about having behaved in such a weak manner.

As long as you focus on tackling these issues by being constructive and result oriented, you will find that all your stress related problems are automatically taken care of. On the other hand, to continue feeling stressed despite having read jokes on the internet is not a good thing.

There are two popular theories related to stress management. One, the individual is advised to behave in a mature manner and forgive and ignore things that cause of stress. However, this leads to a difficult situation because the object causes stress simply because it cannot be ignored. If the individual had been a position to ignore the thing without any difficulty, perhaps the stress would not have occurred in the first place. Such an approach is like trying to break perspex signs when they have specifically been made to remain unbreakable.

On the other hand, the other theory focuses on acknowledging that stress will take place. This theory suggests that individuals should let go of the stress by simply letting it out of the system. Instead of trying to suppress stress, acknowledge it and give it that the due it deserves. If you are feeling stressed, get a punching bag and give it a good whack. Shout at a person after informing him or her that you are merely getting rid of the stress.

Both solutions have their pros and cons. As far as the former is concerned, it sounds great but is just not practical. More often than not, we end up carrying the stress inside us for many days before finally letting it out. The worst thing about such an approach is that the delay only causes more problems. We end up overreacting to what was originally a minor provocation. We may even end up venting the stress on an individual who is not to blame for the original stress.

This can lead to a situation where we end up apologizing to a third party when the party that offended us has still not sought an apology. In such scenario, giving yourself the space to feel stressed and letting it out of the system can make a huge difference. However, the important thing here is to get rid of the stress after you have had your rant.

It’s an interesting statistic that there are still 9 million adults living in the UK who have never used the internet. Ordinarily I would expect most of those 9 million adults to be over the age of 70, but then I would be accused of being ageist. I’m glad to admit that I’m wrong though as the reason 9 million people don’t use the internet is simply that they can’t access it!

Not being able to access the internet would give me a panic attack in less then 10 seconds. We are living in a country that is supposed to be one of the most advanced in the world yet have nearly 10 million people not able to access the internet. How can this be? In a world where you can get amazing deals from companies like abroadband who allow you super fast broadband from over 52 countries, it is inconceivable to believe that the UK can’t even grant some of its own citizen’s access to the net! Yet these are the stark facts as admitted by Jeremy Hunt our own culture secretary.

When I read a report from the BBC that a lot of service providers are misleading their customers on the speed of their internet connection, it made my blood boil even more. How can we live like this?! Why do we accept such shoddy service and lies? Is it the stiff upper lip we Brits are so famous for (well the English are anyway)? No. It is simply that half the time we don’t know that we’re being misled. It is thanks to independent bodies like Ofcom and the ASA that we are made aware of private companies trying to pull a fast one on the populace.

Yet there are some service providers who are not trying to fool their customers and who do provide a really good service. Virgin Media was found to be the most reliable provider in terms of the service it advertised with all of its customers regularly receiving if not exceeding the connection speeds promised. I have recently changed my service provider to Virgin on a trial basis and can confirm that so far, Virgin have lived up to the services advertised.

…every area in the UK to have a Digital Hub within the next decade…

To experience truly stress free internet surfing, everyone deserves and indeed requires fast reliable internet speeds. Virgin can provide this, but many others cannot with BT claiming that they were confused by the Ofcom results and that they haven’t ever misled customers at the point of sale. That is another way of saying that no one bothered to read the small print in their contract. Legal, yes, misleading, yes! Jeremy Hunt may be an unpopular minister at times, but if he does deliver on his promise to provide every community in the UK a Digital Hub allowing them to access the internet at faster speeds, then he gets my vote.

I know what you’re probably thinking — and that’s not me being arrogant, that’s just through experience: you’re wondering if this is going to be one of those annoying self-help articles. One that only looks at the positives and makes it sound like stress is something which can be avoided easily, if only you will drink a cup of tea and follow a simple set of instructions. Not so. Here at this blog we don’t like to belittle anyone…

poor time-management. This can cause all kinds of issues, and mean that you think you have less time than you actually do

…and we know that all kinds of things can lead to stress — including the cost of Red Diesel Prices , or just picking up the kids from school.

But the fact that it is difficult to avoid doesn’t mean it is impossible. Here we like to think that anything is possible, and that with enough willpower almost anything can be achieved!

One thing you need to remember about stress is that to some degree, it is unavoidable. And another thing to remember is that EVERYONE gets stressed. Just because they don’t show it, well, that doesn’t really mean a thing to be honest.

Exercise is something you should seriously consider, if your stress is getting to the stage where you’re not quite sure what to do. There is a correlation between running and physical exercise that is hard to argue with. In other words, exercise is a very real and valuable tool against stress which is free and at your disposal, not matter what your weight.

That’s pretty good, or at least we like to think so.

Another thing which can lead to problems is poor time-management. This can cause all kinds of issues, and mean that you think you have less time than you actually do. Knock this one on the head and you should really be flying!

Here, at this blog, we advise you to make a timetable — it really is the only way to properly make sure you take advantage of every second of the day. And DO give yourself some time to enjoy a social life. Because as important as work is, having fun and LIVING is also crucial to making sure you are balanced as a person.

One thing that also must be settled is the fact that you probably do things which make the stress worse. A poor diet is a very big one to blame for this, and the main reason why people are irritable. If your diet is poor then your body won’t work as efficiently, and it goes without saying that in this case it’s going to be a problem. Sort your body out and your mind will follow. All you have to do then is make sure you properly look after yourself.

It may be a slog but we reckon it’ll be worth it.

When I was 10 I had a friend called Sandrine. Now, Sandrine hated her name and she hated most things – adults, slugs, people with beards and people with “long arms” all made the top 5 – except for one: shouting. Sandrine claimed that this de-stressed her and made her feel brand-new again. It seemed odd to hear these motivational words come out of the mouth of a 10 year old, but then again, Sandrine’s mum was very new-age and into her hip alternative medicines, so it did make sense.

I always thought it was total rubbish, of course, until recently when my dog went missing in the woods and I was forced to shout “Woodywoodpecker where are you!” at the top of my voice. It was only then, many years later, that I realised how much less stressed it made me feel.

To make sure it wasn’t a fluke, the next week when me and Woody went to the woods walking, I had another go. It certainly was no fluke! In fact, it felt like the first time I had ever shouted…and wow…that was something.

So I recommend that anyone do it. Just for kicks, because it really is a fantastic way to just get it all out. You just might need to wear some 2xu compression shorts to stop yourself from getting a hernia…but honestly? Have a go and you won’t regret it.

Sandrine would be all smug if she could read this now…and who knows, wherever she is right now, maybe she is.

Watching sport on TV, you could be forgiven for thinking that tennis is all about stress: two tennis warriors battling it out for hours on end – the blood, the sweat, the tension, the tears.

But of course it doesn’t HAVE to be like this. You can also enjoy a leisurely game with your friends, and doubling up means the pace can become a bit more leisurely.

Why tennis relieves stress:

1) It activates all kinds of muscles, releasing endorphins which give you a natural high.

2) It focuses your mind on intense problem solving which doesn’t stop until the game ends.
3) It make you feel like you’re doing something. That’s always got to help, hasn’t it?
4) It’s something which you can get your aggression out with – that has to be a healthy thing after a long hard slog through a working week consisting of meeting after meeting after meeting…
5) It gets you fit. You then feel more positive about your image and you don’t comfort eat because you don’t want to ruin it. Even my friend Doug Hyde – who used to be very overweight – enjoys a game on the weekends, and now look at him, it’s hard to get him to put his racket down!
All in all, few people have reasons not to play tennis. As an upper-body workout it’s fantastic, and as a lower-body workout it’s something which doesn’t mean going to teh gym, which is always noce. All in all, it’s accessible for people with all levels of mobility, so why not give it a shot?

Well, there is something that has been making me extremely angry these days and this is my favourite British government and the people that are responsible for the ’amazing'performance of our domestic economy. I hae been quite sceptical about the predecessors of the current leaders, and still I was quite happy during their rule. Now I am just amazed by how much incompentence an otherwise educated man can present and how much of political instability there is actually in this country.

Firstly, I watched quite steadily how people are losing jobs – the cuts system influenced even the most well-off people in the country and the increased VAT is what I have adored the most – just open you eyes in the morning an go to the shop – OH, THERE IS A PRICE INCREASE! Simply amazing considering how much our expenses have risen by the quickening inflation and the beautifully exercised political skills of a puppet we now call Nick Clegg.

Time to move on – something else seems to be making me quite happy. What is happening with the education that the UK has been generally known for – one of our best features is that we offer some of the best education and university experience in the world. And what happened – nothing good, after the fees increased with 3 times above the average. Perfect – no matter whether it is justified and whether it would have any practical significance, such an increase would decrease the overall authority of the British education as many people would simply consider it failed by politicians. And education need not any critical care – everything that the education system needed was less immigration and more stability for students from th EU.
